However neither the manufacturer nor we can take responsibility for this type of breakage as it is likely that this may happen even without the film installation. In a small number of cases this will generally manifest itself in a visible crack which will emanate from the edge damaged area. If there are any known or existing faults in the glazing system it is possible that the application of film or coating to the glass could highlight these faults. If any damaged edges are found on the glass that are deemed to be outside allowable standards, then installation should not take place. This may find any existing faults within that particular glazing system (such as rough cut or impact damage edges). Please note that the application of a film or coating product onto glass can increase stress within the glass pane or unit by the performance of the product. Your glazing should meet the Code of Practice, BS.6262 parts 1-7 and BS.8000 Glazing Workmanship on site.
